So much to do. So little time.

I've been very busy with freelance work and family things. I'm going to keep updating as things happen but it won't be nearly as often. Here is a little taste of what I've been doing:

I've been working with Winters Promise to create illustrations for their first grade language arts curriculum. This cute little girl is Tatty Mouse, one of the recurring characters in the stories.

I'm still working on rubber stamps for My Favorite Things Rubber Stamps. The latest sets are being released next week. You can check out the sneak peeks here and here.  I'm particularly proud of how the Inspired By Flowers set turned out.
I'm also still creating a few cards for Recycled Paper Greetings. It's Halloween time right now.

Lori at Trendy Tykes sent me samples of the monsters she created from my designs. I'll be letting you know when they officially go on sale. They are soft and adorable and Wes loves them.

Grand Rapids Tag Tour has gone live so check that out when you get a chance. I did all the illustrations on that project. I hope they need another map soon. It was such a fun project.

One of my good friends Melissa is getting married. I've been working with her on her invitations. I can't post them yet but they are very fun and very much her.

Wes is getting so big! He is a big consumer of my time but I wouldn't have it any other way. His first birthday is in two weeks and we have a little party planned.Wow, when I write it all down it looks like I've been very busy. I guess that's why I haven't gotten to my blog lately. Well I will be sure to keep you all updated as things happen and things get done.

Rock and Roll Children's Art

The last member of The Herbivores is Zeke. With his natural Mohawk he was the obvious choice as the bands lead singer. No really says he has a bad voice but the hyenas just laughed when we asked them what they thought. He has always wanted to be a singer and spends every available moment practicing. He suffered a minor set back last spring when park rangers mistook his warbling for cries of pain and tranquilized him. After recovering from multiple exploratory surgeries he is back to singing full time.

You can find Zeke and his band mates here.

Rock 'n Roll Art for Kids

The next member of The Herbivores I'd like you to meet is Jack. He is a native of Montana and met the rest of The Herbivores while on safari with his family. He plays lead guitar and is also the manager of the band. His experience cross in rocky terrain makes him the natural choice to navigate the treacherous world of rock 'n roll.

You can find Jack and his band mates here.

Are your Kids Afraid of the Dark?

Trendy Tykes has just announced it's new product line featuring my monster designs. They are producing a line of monster related products designed to help kids who are afraid of the dark. They are also just plain cute and cuddly! Here is a little preview of Raz as a stuffed toy. Isn't it adorable? Stay tuned because I'll be sharing more as they release them.

Rockin' Nursery Art

The next member of The Herbivores I'd like to meet is Max. He plays the bass guitar. As a water buffalo he often has trouble keeping up with the other more lively members of the band. He has a good head for rhythm though and keeps the band from bouncing off track.

You can find Max and his band mates here.

Rock 'n Roll Nursery Art: The Herbivores

I would like to introduce a brand new rock band: The Herbivores. The first member of the band is Eddie. He was discovered while drumming on rock outside his heard on the south African savanna. Being a gazelle he likes a fast jumpy beat.

You can find him and his band mates here.

Freelance Work and Vacation

I have a bunch of stamp drawings to do and four illustrations for the same children's magazine I did this illustration for.  I may miss a few of my normal daily posts. Don't worry I'll be back! But first I have to go visit my college roommates. It will be my first weekend away since my son was born. Wish my husband luck. He's going to need it! Any emails that I get over the weekend will be answered on Monday.
